OK, let me be honest here. This is the best portable BBQ that I’ve ever used. However, saying that, this is also the ONLY portable BBQ that I’ve ever used. Well, with the exception of those wee disposable ones.
Yet, saying that, I really can’t think of a single thing that this BBQ doesn’t have.
Firstly, it looks like a small briefcase when it’s all packed down. When you open it up there’s plenty of room for burgers and sausages. Measuring 40 x 10 x 28.5 (LxWxH) the actual usable grill size if pretty good. With the charcoal bed set directly underneath, I found the spread of the heat to be spot on. With no cold spots, or areas where one sausage cooked faster than another.
Quality of build
It’s also study. I mean, you’re not going to be standing on it, but it’s not in the least bit flimsy. And I was pleasantly surprised that the sides didn’t buckle or scorch. In fact, when I got it home it was a breeze to clean and looked practically unused.
The grill and firebox fitted in the dishwasher without any problem and the case just needed a quick wipe with a damp cloth.

What we really liked about the BBQ was that it retained quite a lot of heat once the cooking was done. We used one of the single use bags of charcoal you can pick up from the supermarket. It was small enough to fit perfectly and gave us easily over an hour of good cooking time. Plus there were enough heat left to toast off a few marshmallows with the kids.
It’s really great bit of kit and one that we’re going to be regularly taking when we head down to the beach. It’s a great addition to the camp setup.
